Shavu’ot #3 | The Harvest is Ripe

Shavu’ot (the Feast of Weeks) has many wonderful lessons. For the Jewish community, it is the annual celebration of receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai. Traditionally, it has been celebrated by the Christian Church as the day of Pentecost and the self-proclaimed birthing of the church. Historically, we also know that Shavu’ot was the time of the wheat harvest for the children of Israel. As this early grain was brought in, the people rejoiced in God’s provision and were confident that there would be a good fall harvest (Leviticus 23:15-21). However, what is most significant regarding Shavu’ot culminate with the ingathering of all peoples and nations back to Yahweh, which began with the disciples gathered in Jerusalem awaiting the promise of The Father. Yet, in these end days we are in store for so much more if we can understand the purpose of The Spirit of Promise.
